New Website Launched: Rebuilt and Redesigned

MANKATO, Minnesota – January 29, 2011: The Child’s World today announced the launch of its new website at http://childsworld.com. The redesigned site embodies the company’s commitment to the growing needs of its customers. Based on extensive research, it offers the capability to:

• Read excerpts of any and all of our published titles
• Create quotes and export product data to facilitate purchase orders
• Consult editorial reviews from resources including The School Library Journal and Booklist

An important aspect of the new site is the use of Ruby on Rails, an open source web framework. Although transparent to the user, it enables The Child’s World to customize the purchasing experience to the specific needs of schools and libraries. “Until now the company’s website has been restricted by its underlying third-party technology,” said CEO Mike Peterson. “This launch enables The Child’s World to fully and effectively adapt to user interaction and respond to customer requests. We look forward to feedback from our users and the new solutions they will encourage in the future.”
