Go Green! A New Series Perfect for Earth Day Education

Every year on April 22, people host different events to remember the Earth. For more than four decades, America has celebrated Earth Day. More and more educators are communicating to their students that this is not only a time to celebrate the environment, but also to renew our commitment to protect and preserve our natural resources and habitats.

As you gear up for Earth Day to share ways we can all protect our planet, The Child’s World is excited to introduce a new series of books entitled Go Green!. This full-color series offers practical, common sense tips on what kids can do all year long to respect our Earth.

“We are extremely proud to introduce the Go Green series,” said Michael Peterson, president of The Child’s World. “As more and more educators are striving to promote environmental awareness and reinforce that the job of protecting our Earth belongs to all of us, this series is a valuable and engaging resource for rich learning experiences in and out of the classroom.”

In honor of Earth Day and the importance of environmental programs in our schools, President Obama urged all Americans to “continue to educate our young people in the ongoing fight to protect our environment.” The Go Green! series can help do that with 8 titles including Changing Habits, Living Green; Clean Air; Clean Water; Conserving Energy; Good Food, Good for Earth; Protecting Animals; Protecting Land; Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Each 32-page book is written at a 3rd grade reading level and is appropriate for children in grades 1-4. This series addresses environmental issues and problems through specific facts and examples, while encouraging young readers in ways to help. These books also highlight the ingenious or effective solutions offered by both kids and grown-ups.
