Two biographies for grades 2-6 present very simple overviews for young readers, profiling notable people. Deborah Woodworth’s Determination – Story of Jackie Robinson tells of the baseball player’s achievements and reads like fiction as it describes his life and experiences. Peter Murray’s Dreams – Story of Martin Luther King Jr. covers his life and his evolving concept of civil rights and passive resistance. Both are fine introductions which use a dramatic approach to narrate biography.
