The story teaches how to make words by removing the first letter and adding a new letter. The cover shows what age the book is for with the simple drawings of Bird and Hen. The art work throughout the book is very simple but colorful. The words are printed on top of the shape where they show how to change the letter. This will help the beginning reader comprehend the lesson being taught. I think this would best be used one-on-one. I liked how the story used the words demonstrated in the first part, with the story at the end.
