Editorial Review

A noteworthy review of Nonfiction Readers: Level 1 from Children's Literature on January 1, 2002

Cover: Crocodiles

The book’s title explains it all; this is a very basic book about crocodiles, written for children who are ready to read words of more than one syllable. On one page is a sentence; a photo illustrating its meaning is opposite. Each short sentence reveals a basic, pertinent fact. The colored photos vividly capture the text. A child who reads this book will possibly learn something new, will enjoy the pictures, and will probably decide that crocodiles do not invite petting. A short word list is at the back. The book is part of the ‘Wonders of Reading’ series.
