This well-designed, clear biography is a positive presentation of Malcom X’s life and teachings, starting with his childhood in Michigan. Malcolm converted while serving time in a Massachusetts jail, then was a prominent leader in the Nation of Islam until his 1965 assassination. Thoughtfully chosen black-and-white photographs complement the text.
