Editorial Review

A noteworthy review of Machines at Work from Booklist on April 15, 2007

With simple words and full-page color photos of trucks in action, this small book in the Machines at Work series will have wide appeal for all those fans who can never get enough of powerful, dramatic vehicles. More than just a look at trucks on the road, the text offers clear talk about how tow trucks are used, with close-ups of the cab, engine, winch, boom, cable, and hook at work. At the end, a huge truck pulls a bus that crashed in Canada; a smaller truck picks up a car in New York City. Many young preschoolers will connect the trucks in the books with the toys they love to play with.
