A noteworthy review of Musical Instruments from School Library Connection on May 1, 2020
This series about musical instruments is just what we have come to expect from Child’s World publications, with each title displaying clear photographs and equally clear text to explain and explore each of the titular instruments. Written by several different authors, the series presents information in a clear and organized way while covering the history of each instrument and its type (i.e. percussion, string, wind, etc.). Beginning music students will find information to help them understand the details of each instrument and possibly help them decide which instrument they might like play. Each volume includes websites for more information, an introduction to the author, a glossary with phonetic pronunciation, and captions for the photos. Hardcover bindings will stand up to repeat use while the 24 page length can be read briskly in one sitting and by those who are not reading at grade level. Both classroom and music teachers will find these tidy books useful and enjoyable to read. Index. Table of Contents.
