Mother Goose rhymes are universally popular because of their simple rhyming words coupled with basic rhythms. Now they have been produced in an eight volume series with vibrantly colorful images that make them ideal for use with preschool through second grade children. This simply outstanding series includes Baa, Baa, Black Sheep; Hey Diddle Diddle; Hickory, Dickory, Dock; Little Bo Peep; Little Miss Muffet; Old King Cole; One, Two Buckle My Shoe; and This Little Piggy. Each 16-page title has a reinforced library binding for an extended shelf life, along with an introduction to its author and illustrator, as well as an information section on where to find out more about the featured rhymes. Although each title is available individually ($21.36 List / $14.95 Library), both school and community libraries would be well advised to acquire the entire set for their young students and patrons.
A Review of "Favorite Mother Goose Rhymes" in School Library Journal

Four well-known rhymes are given the spotlight when published as stand-alone titles. Each easy-to-read book includes the traditional Mother Goose verse and simple illustrations featuring folks wearing old-fashioned costumes complete with bonnets and pinafores. The characters, whether animal or human, are expressive and full of personality. Plenty of white space is left on each page for the large-sized text. The result is a series of books with plenty of child appeal, perfect for reading with a group or sharing one-on-one.
